The Canyon of the Eagles Reptile Show with Robert Lindsey
A hands-on, user-friendly program featuring a number of non-venomous reptiles. Learn about the natural relationships between the animals that share our habitat…and meet Henry, the friendly, Great Plains Rat Snake.
A little about Robert:
Robert attended Texas A&I College in Kingsville for two years majoring in General Agriculture. He then transferred to Texas A&M University to pursue studies in wildlife management where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Science, Fisheries Option, in January 1967.
Robert was in the U.S. Navy as the Vietnam War was in progress, and he says that the best thing that happened to him while in the Navy was meeting his wife Roberta.
It was in February 1989 that he first laid eyes on Inks Dam NFH in Burnet County and was given the grand tour. The rest is history. On April 22, 1990 he became the manager of the Inks Dam National Fish Hatchery. He has always had an interest in wild critters, especially birds and fish. He spent 14 years, eight months and a few days at Inks Dam NFH before retiring in December 31, 2004. After a 39-year career with the Fish & Wildlife Service, Robert is enjoying retirement.
Robert and Roberta now live on a small ranch in Bluffton, Llano County, Texas where he manages their ranch for wildlife. They have 2 grown daughters, Anne-Marie and Julie. The ranch keeps him busy and it’s where he finds most of his critters. He still finds a little time for hunting and fishing. Since 2007, Robert has been conducting guided nature hikes and reptile shows at Canyon of the Eagles.
It is fun to have Robert and all his critters at Canyon of the Eagles. Come and see him every Saturday at the ever-popular Shake, Rattle & Coil show.
